Inverter technology for higher efficiency

An inverter allows the compressor to continuously adapt the cooling capacity to the requirement of the building load by controlling the speed of the compressor motor. Traditional systems waste electricity, because the motor is always running at full speed. Daikin’s variable frequency drives for HVAC compressors, pumps, fans and motors increase energy efficiency, thus reducing costs.

Maximising ESEER

The European Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio ‘ESEER’ takes into account variations in energy efficiency based on the load rate. So inverter technology helps to deliver the very highest seasonal energy efficiency figures, because it minimises the power consumption in part load conditions.

Start up time reduced by 1/3

By varying the output power in direct relation to the cooling requirements of the system, the inverter chiller has a reduced time from start-up to full operating capacity, so comfort conditions can be achieved in 1/3 less time than with conventional systems.

Displacement power factor always > 0.95

Usually the power factor of a motor reduces as the power output decreases. However thanks to the inverter, no additional power factor correction is required, as the power factor is always > 0.95. This means there are no power surges and costs are constrained.

Less frequent start/stop cycles and low starting current

Inverter technology has fewer start/stop cycles. It ensures that the start-up current is always lower than current absorbed in the maximum operating conditions, for further cost savings.

Reduced sound levels

Low sound levels in partial load conditions are achieved by varying the compressor frequency, thus ensuring the minimum sound levels at all times.
